Practical BARF Feeding:

AM
  • 2# (or 2% of body weight) RMB's. RMB's are Raw Meaty Bones, i.e., chicken necks, chicken backs, chicken wings, pork neck bones, turkey necks, lamb ribs, rabbit, etc.
  • ½ tsp kelp/alfalfa
  • 1000 mg Vit C powder
  • 1 Fish Oil Capsule
  • 1 Tbs ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)

PM

Basic Veggie Slop Recipe:

  • 1# liver (beef or chicken)
  • 8# veggies
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 32 oz plain yogurt w/active cultures
  • 9 eggs

Process liver, veggies & garlic in food processor, juicer, blender or grinder.

Add yogurt & eggs.

Freeze in single serving portions.

 

 

 

Frozen Kongs:


Plug the hole with a little blob of peanut butter. Add the hearts and veggie cubes and a few rabbit cookies. Fill the cavities with Yogurt, add a couple of rabbit cookies as a garnish and to get the dog started. Freeze for 4 hours. Make a hot puppy very happy!

  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Chinese Cabbage
  • Cucumber
  • Greens - turnip, collard, or mustard
  • Parsley
  • Red Leaf Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Sweet Potatoes - either pulped or baked
  • Yellow Squash
  • Zucchini

Example Muscle and Organ Meats:

  • Rabbit - all parts
  • Ground beef
  • Ground turkey
  • Heart - beef & chicken
  • Liver - beef & chicken (at least once a week)
  • Gizzards - chicken
  • Kidneys - beef
  • Mackeral - canned
